SOFTimpact further strengthens its position in the Maritime Industry, as an IT service provider by signing 3 different contracts with EDT Offshore Co Ltd. All 3 contracts will be implemented for their Limassol office.

EDT began operations in Limassol in 1980, as ship owners, managers and operators. Core operations include towage and salvage, specialized sub-sea operations, pipeline installations and Ship agency services.  EDT Offshore operates from branches in Cyprus, Egypt, Greece and Israel a range of companies offering Marine related products and services.

Contract1: Implementation of MS Dynamics Ax Accounting
EDT Offshore will implement with the help of SOFTimpact the accounting package MS Dynamics Ax to cover its accounting related requirements. The type of operations requires a state of the art and legally compliant accounting system and processes. Particularly the efficient handling of intercompany transaction is a core requirement of EDT. EDT decided to use MS Dynamics Ax to cover their diverse accounting requirements. SOFTimpact will deliver both the product and all required consulting and implementation services. EDT will use Dynamics Ax to implement their accounting needs, initially in Cyprus with the outlook for a rollout to the branches at a later stage.

SOFTimpact will partner with First eBusiness from Aberdeen for delivery of the total solution. SOFTimpact and First eBusiness are partners in delivering Microsoft Dynamics AX to the Maritime industry customers. SOFTimpact expertise with First eBusiness experience in advance Accounting/Financial requirements for the Maritime Oil industry will deliver a unique and complete solution.

Contract2: Implementation and Upgrade of IT infrastructure
Mike Henshaw (IT Manager) of EDT Offshore will use SOFTimpact services to upgrade its IT infrastructure. SOFTimpact will work with EDT in installing and configuring required server and desktop technologies. This project will focus on the infrastructure of offices in Cyprus. EDT will use SOFTimpact to create a reliable server environment to create a suitable infrastructure for current and future needs, deploy state-of-the-art and standard technologies, products and configurations and suitable setup for proactive monitoring and support.

Contract 3: Support & Outsourcing of IT infrastructure
EDT Offshore will use SOFTimpact services to operate their internal IT infrastructures (servers, desktops). SOFTimpact will act as a replacement of local in-house IT department by continuously monitoring all systems and approaching issues in a proactive manner. In principal SOFTimpact will engage in all activities required to achieve a stable server and desktop environment. This will include both offsite/remote, as well as onsite activities. Some of the activities include user management, backup & restore, management of VPN to branches, reactive troubleshooting, proactive continuous monitoring of running processes, etc.

SOFTimpact acts as a trusted advisor for strategic IT investments and helps to implement these decisions together with the client’s in-house resources or alternatively bridge temporary resource gaps. From the time of selection of the application, through implementation, SOFTimpact will work together with EDT Offshore to ensure continued success. SOFTimpact has the experience to manage IT projects, irrespective of their size or complexity. Throughout implementation and after a customer goes live, SOFTimpact is by their side.
